LEWIS & CLARK EXPEDITION 200 YEARS AGO TODAY 10/30/1804
Clark explores seven miles up the Knife River to the Hidatsa villages searching for a suitable site to make winter camp. He finds little timber in the area. The Corps decides to go back downstream to build their fort below the first Mandan village, Mitutanka. The men of the Corps hold a dance, basically for the Indians entertainment.
