LEWIS & CLARK EXPEDITION 200 YEARS AGO TODAY 10/27/1804
The boats move us to Mitutanka, where Clarks visits while Lewis and the interpreters walk upstream to the second Mandan village, Ruptare. Clarks meets Rene Jusseaume, who married into the Mandans years ago, and states he spied on the British for Clark's brother during the Revolutionary War. The captains find him untrustworthy, and a poor interpreter. The boats move up to Raptare and set up camp with the U.S. flag flying.
